REII’s mission is to ensure that technologies are taken beyond research, development, and demonstration and successfully commercialized. On every project, REII puts great emphasis on the commercial viability of the proposed technologies and project. We utilize in-house tools that have been developed including our IBEP (Integrated Biomass to Energy Process) Model. The REII IBEP model has been under development for three years and currently is in version 5. The IBEP Model integrates both process, chemical, kinetic and economic modules that evaluate end-to-end biomass to energy processes including feedstock handling, feedstock processing, thermochemical conversion, gas clean up, fuels synthesis/catalytic conversion, product separation, power production, and other elements of a process. These modules are modified based on specific technology applications and help to minimize risk associated with scale up to commercial plants.
