REII is issuing the Global BioFuels Challenge—to increase the use of biofuels by 2025 to 25 million barrels per day oil equivalent. Currently the world uses approximately 85 million barrels of oil per day. By 2020, 25 million barrels of biofuels would reduce the need for oil by about 25%. In the United States, REII will contribute to the 25X’25 Campaign in which American ranches, farms and forests are due to provide 25% of the energy consumed domestically while continueing to produce abundant, safe and affordable food, feed and fiber.
